Leica Leitz 50mm f3.5 Nickel 11 OClock Elmar Yr. Price reduction (2/1/21): Ive just noticed the front ring plate isnt exactly straight. Rare and collectible early Leica Elmar in average used condition for the items age.
Signs of wear are visible, and overall functionality of the lens is good. Optically the lens is fair for its age. Very small amounts of internal dust is present, and under close scrutiny, a few incredibly light hairline marks are visible to the front element. I was only able to see them when viewing with a magnifier and a bright light. There appears to be a ring of possible haze in the front optic, this is to the edges of the element.Light coating patches on the rear element are also present. Image quality appears to be unaffected. Images are still razor sharp with fair contrast and nice muted colours, even at f/3.5. The Uncoated Elmars always amaze me with how good they are.
Mechanically the focus is smooth, and the aperture has had some light lubrication but still remains a tad stiff at times, especially in the cold.
