Offered in fantastic near perfect condition! This is a very rare opportunity to acquire a genuine Leica/Leitz lens keeper for your classic 9cm Elmar lens. Dating to the 1940s, these are incredibly rare, not just because of the tumultuous times they were born into, but because, being made of the incredibly fragile Bakelite, they do not put up with much misuse. The design is made up of a surprisingly beefy main tube, topped with a matching screw on lid, the two parts screw together nicely and unscrew with ease the thread is in perfect condition. The top is signed;'Ernst Leitz, Wetzlar, Germany' while the underside is marked simply'9cm Elmar, all text and textured surfaces enjoy good relief and there is little if any sign of the past 60 odd years. But for the vintage aesthetic, this case could have been made just a couple of years ago, its condition is that good. External dimensions are 92mm high and 55mm in diameter.
