Description - Serial #29982 -Made in 1929 in Wetzlar, Germany -Officially Leica set aside serial numbers 34803 - 34817 for the Luxus but examples have shown up with serial numbers anywhere between 24XXX and 68XXX. This is an original Leica 1 Model A camera body that has been plated and finished as a LUXUX camera and lens combination. It is an after market gold plated example, however, the serial number, model and year are all correct for it being an original special edition'Luxus' camera with all the chrome parts being gold plated and having the unusual lizard skin leatherette. Speeds Z, 1/20 - 1/500. Built in 50mm f3.5 Elmar lens with front cap.
No dings, dents or major marks. Beautiful finish and great Lizard skin Mechanics 9/10 -Focusing is smooth -Aperture ring is smooth -Shutter speeds are accurate.
The camera was just given a CLA Optics 9/10 -No fog, fungus, separation or scratches -Viewfinder is bright and clean -No light leaks in the shutter curtain. This is a wonderful example and exceptionally well executed. Really very nice to have and enjoy! We do not lower the declared/insured value for any goods.
